PROJECT STATEMENT
In my second semester of freshmen year at the University of Notre Dame, I designed kitchen countertop appliances inspired by the DeWalt brand. To understand the key distinguishing features of the DeWalt brand language, I familiarized myself with the DeWalt's existing products as well as those that appeal to their consumer base. From my research, I was able to identify several distinguishing details on DeWalt products such as chunky bases and cylindrical bar frames that give DeWalt its look. From there, I implemented these details into my designs, applying the features to kitchen countertop appliances—specifically, hand mixers, toasters, and panini makers—as though DeWalt was a client.
